Use the following activities to motivate your students to study or apply what they learn about the periodic law:

• Construct a CD Spectroscope [local] and use it to identify the composition of 'neon' signs or halogen lamps in their neighborhood.
• Construct a periodic table of something of interest (flowers, family, cars, etc.).
• Investigate the density of different metals and compare the experimental values to those published in the CRC.
