For their seminal works in understanding the role that manmade chemicals can have on the environment, Crutzen, Molina, and Rowland shared the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The prize was for "their work in atmospheric chemistry, particularly concerning the formation and decomposition of ozone."
