The human genome has been sequenced. We now live in what has been termed the post-genomic era. Billions of dollars have been spent to obtain this massive amount of information, now we need to do something useful with it. This has opened up new job titles within the biological and biochemical sciences. Your students may ask you what it would be like to have a career in bioinformatics or what are the courses that a student should take to be a computational biologist or a sequence data miner.
