Normality

Acids and bases often are studied as aqueous solutions, especially in high school settings. For scientists to work with acids or bases in a quantitative manner, it is important to know how much acid or base is dissolved in a given volume of solution. Molarity is one way to keep track of the amount of solute (moles) in a specified volume of solution (liters).

Molarity is covered in CHEM869A.
