Hydrogen peroxide (3% commercial) can be readily decomposed. This reaction is catalysed using readily avialable compounds like yeast and iodine. The reaction produces oxygen gas and occurs at a visible rate.
Commercial lightsticks (or glowsticks) produce their light via a peroxyoxalate reaction involving a peroxide and an oxalate ester [lcoal]. These lightsticks are commonly used to qualitatively demostrate the temperature effect on reaction rates.
