Balancing redox (oxidation numbers)
Balancing redox equations can be quite challenging. Two methods commonly are used.

One involves oxidation numbers, and the other half-reactions.

For each method, you must be able to assign oxidation numbers. In the half-reaction method, you will use oxidation number information to separate the substances and write balanced half-reactions.
