This link was in the introductory paragraph also. It is a listing of historical figures in the development of thermodynamics and their contributions. Energy applications have become more and more complex since the first use by early man. Important breakthroughs are listed in an energy timeline. From the history of enthalpy methods and development of Hess's law, the link continues to a laboratory which that compares the metabolic rate with the calories in food being burned. From the history of entropy concepts and development of the Van't Hoff equation, the link continues to a laboratory that compares enthalpy measurements from an indirect determination and a direct measurement.
