Drug testing implies screening for Drug Abuse. With drug testing, analytical chemistry is used to examine the contents of certain bodily fluids and fibers for the presence of illegal drugs. The presence of such drugs indicates recent use.

Not all drug testing bodies test for the same substances or for a uniform substance concentration. For example the NCAA Drug Testing Program includes drugs that are different from those banned from the Olympics. This is also true for the testing procedures.
