Accuracy of data

For systematic and random reasons, some data is always unacceptable. There are statistical techniques such as the Grubbs' method available to judge the precision of some data points. But students require instruction in evaluating the accuracy and precision of data. This involves both qualitative and quantitative schemes. Only repetitive, consistent data can support accurate conclusions. When in doubt, repeat the experiment.
